Introduction

Hi, this is Jay's page. In C.D.T we have been asked by our teacher if we can think up a project
which could be anything as long as its realistic and achievable. In this page there will be an idea of what I want to do.
I've thought up a lot of ideas but the one i wanted to design was a clock and a twirler, but i would like to concentrate
on the clock first, then see if i can do a twirler after hopefully they're both possible.

My Project

My project is achievable if i get the right materials correct. I am quite excited about doing my project because it would

be cool how to see how a clock works. It would take quite a lot of preparation and hard work.

But Why?

I would like to design a clock because it would look
good in my room depending on the colours i use
I also think i should design a clock because I didn't really like doing
the wind chime because we got told how to really do it, it actually wasn't really our
design except the painting and stuff ... but if i do the clock i can design the shape as well as
the painting and design actually on it.

Research

I've done a lot of research and found out the materials you need for a basic clock you need
plastic,metal,wood and cogs.
But that is all i can say thank you and get back to me as soon as possible...
Thanks for reading my page (:

Jay - I'm liking your idea of making a clock. There is so much you can do with this idea. In school we have clock mechanisms and clock hands so you would only need to design the shape of the clock.
  • I would start off with looking at loads of different types of clocks - get loads of different pictures for inspiration
  • Think about what materials you want to use - wood, metal, plastic, etc etc
  • Think about the size and shape, should it hang on the wal or should it be free standing?
  • Start sketching!
